NAGC Announces 2027 Annual Convention in Louisville, Kentucky
We are excited to announce that the 2027 Annual Convention (NAGC27) will take place November 11–14, 2027, at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.
Louisville’s vibrant downtown, nationally recognized culinary scene, and thriving arts community provide an engaging and walkable setting for NAGC’s premier professional learning event. From waterfront views along the Ohio River to nationally recognized museums, live music, and locally owned restaurants, the city provides a dynamic backdrop for connection and collaboration.
The Annual Convention is the nation’s largest gathering dedicated exclusively to gifted and advanced learners, drawing around 2,000 educators, researchers, school leaders, and caregivers each year. Louisville has earned perfect scores on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index for more than a decade, reflecting strong non-discrimination protections and inclusive policies for individuals. Alongside national recognition for its diversity and its designation as a Welcoming City for immigrants and refugees, Louisville offers an inclusive environment for educators, researchers, and advocates from across the country.
“The NAGC Annual Convention is the premier national gathering dedicated to advancing excellence in gifted education,” said John Segota, Executive Director of NAGC. “Hosting NAGC27 in Louisville highlights Kentucky’s strong legacy of leadership in gifted education, including its longstanding commitment to supportive policies and dedicated funding. This setting offers a powerful opportunity to learn from that leadership while coming together to strengthen our field and expand what is possible for advanced learners nationwide."
NAGC will partner closely with the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education (KAGE) to engage local and regional educators and showcase the strong gifted education work happening throughout Kentucky.
“Kentucky’s gifted education community is honored to welcome NAGC back to Louisville,” said Lynette Breedlove, President of KAGE. “For decades, KAGE has worked to connect and empower families, educators, and community members to meet the unique needs of high-potential/gifted and talented individuals through awareness, advocacy, and action. We look forward to celebrating that work and building new connections with educators from across the country.”
