Javits-Frasier Educational Leadership Program
The Javits-Frasier Educational Leadership Program equips passionate individuals to expand access to talent development opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse students who have been historically underrepresented in gifted education. Through targeted professional learning and mentorship, scholars develop the skills and advocacy capacity needed to advance equity and excellence in their schools and communities.
Applications for the 2026 class will be open March 2 - June 12, 2026.
Program Benefits
Applicant Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Applicants must:

Be a teacher, school counselor, or school psychologist working in a Title I school, Bureau of Indian Education school, or one with equivalent demographics (educators from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply).

Be new (1–2 years of experience) to teaching and/or new to gifted/talented education.

Not have previously attended an NAGC Annual Convention.

Not have previously received this award.

A clear commitment to advocating for and developing the gifts and talents of culturally and linguistically diverse students.

Leadership potential within their school and community.

The ability to implement effective strategies that support diverse gifted learners.
