Ellen Honeck

Ellen Honeck, PhD is currently Director of Nasri Academy for Gifted Children and has worked in private, public and online gifted schools for over 25 years. Dr. Honeck has been involved in gifted education working in various roles including classroom teacher, administrator, gifted specialist, curriculum developer, consultant, adjunct professor, and Associate Director of a Gifted Education Institute. She has served the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) in several roles including an At-Large Board member, past network chair and chair-elect and member of the Whole Child Task Force. She received the 2021 Professional Development Network Award for “Culturally Responsive Gifted Education” and the 2016 NAGC President’s Award.

Ellen has authored Social and Emotional Learning for Advanced Children in Early Childhood, Teaching Gifted Children in Today’s Preschool and Primary Classrooms, Smart Start Series: Let’s Play!, Around my House!, and Let’s Go to the Market!, chapters in Success Strategies for Parenting Gifted Kids (Social-Emotional Characteristics of Young Gifted Children; Navigating Educational Choices: Finding the Best Fit for Your Gifted Child), chapters in Specialized Schools for High Talent Learners: Designing and Delivering School-Wide Educational Change (The Whole Gifted Child: Serving Learners in Specialized Schools; Specialized Elementary Gifted Schools), many curriculum units and articles.
