Professional Bio

Ty’Bresha Glass is an educational historian, critical theorist, and deficit-mindset disruptor currently based in Indiana. She has served as an enrichment program coordinator with the Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute (GER²I), collaborating with teachers and counselors to design challenging, responsive learning experiences for high-ability students. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Gifted, Creative, and Talented Studies at Purdue University, where she works alongside Dr. Richard Olenchak on the Positive Psychology Javits grant, developing lesson plans and instructional modules focused on socioaffective characteristics for equitable gifted identification.

Dedicated to supporting teachers’ professional development and practice, Ty’Bresha presents nationally and internationally and looks forward to releasing culturally responsive pedagogical materials soon. In addition, she contributes to the preparation of future educators through her work with preservice teachers in the undergraduate course EDST 20010: Educational Policies and Law.

Her research interests focus on applications of critical theory in education, inter-temporal studies of education, and the dismantling of deficit mindsets in gifted education. As an advocate for equity and justice, Ty’Bresha is dedicated to creating educational spaces that honor and uplift students and education professionals from marginalized backgrounds.
