Professional Bio
Jessica LaFollette teaches gifted students at Piper Middle School in Kansas City and is co-chair of the special education department. Dr. LaFollette is also an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri - Columbia where she instructs graduate courses in gifted education. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from Emporia State University and her PhD from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She is co-author of the LEAP Guidebook and Modules for Differentiating Instruction for Gifted and High-Potential Students. Dr. LaFollette is a Past President of the Kansas Association for the Gifted, Talented and Creative and past Chair of NAGC’s Parent, Family and Community Network. She has also served on the NAGC convention committee and the Parenting for High Potential Editorial Content Advisory Board. When she is not teaching, she enjoys puzzles, books, baking, and traveling with her family.
