Thank You Jane Clarenbach!

Dear Friends,

Help me in thanking Jane Clarenbach for her more than 20 years of service at the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). Jane is retiring on September 15, 2016.00 JaneRene.jpg

We are thankful for her many contributions and achievements during her time in service to our association. Jane leaves a legacy of impact across nearly every facet of NAGC. Many of you worked with her as advocates for sounds policies and funding for gifted. Jane deserves credit for coordinating NAGC's legislative and funding efforts that led to some of the highest levels of federal financial support for the Jacob Javits Gifted and Talented Program and critical changes to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act that result in more attention for gifted and talented children. Others of you have worked with Jane on publications. She is a sharp editor and thoughtful collaborator on NAGC service publications, co-publications, NAGC Newsletters, and the Gifted Child Quarterly Journal. For those of you who worked with her in your volunteer support of NAGC on committees, task forces, networks, and state affiliate groups, she honored your commitment and amplified your efforts with her solid leadership and professionalism.

While all of us who worked with Jane at NAGC will miss her vibrant personality, team spirit, and dedication to quality, we are comforted that she will not be far away. In fact, she pledged to continue her service on special projects as needed and will participate in the upcoming Convention in Florida.

On behalf of the Board, NAGC Staff, members, and advocates for the gifted, we salute you Jane!

Warm regards,
