Nancy Green joined the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) as executive director in 2004 with more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership and management experience in five different organizations. Throughout her tenure in several leadership roles, Nancy has made a career-long commitment to creating relevant, high-quality products and services for members, building strategic partnerships, and raising the profile and professionalism of the organizations with whom she works.
Currently Nancy represents NAGC externally to a wide variety of national and state organizations, corporations, media and policy makers on positions relevant to gifted education. She has worked in partnership with the NAGC board and committees to implement a dynamic strategic framework that builds support for high-ability learners across the nation, in part by building new member services and creating alliances with other education organizations important to NAGC’s mission and future success. She also works with staff and members to enhance the association’s effectiveness in advocating for, and addressing the needs of high-ability learners.
Nancy also enjoys contributing her expertise and experience to further the profession of association management through her affiliation with the American Society of Association Executives, where she has served on several key committees and task forces, and by writing and speaking on governance and leadership topics.
Nancy resides in Bethesda, MD, with her husband and two teenagers.
