It's not unusual for adults (especially parents of gifted children) to recognize characteristics of giftedness in themselves. Suddenly it becomes clear that feelings of isolation, of being "different," or disillusionment with school may have been intensified by unrecognized giftedness. Fortunately, it's never too late to develop abilities, find new interests, or hone skills.
