The Many Faces of Gifted: Meeting Our Legal and Ethical Responsibilities for Supporting ALL Gifted Students

What are the implications for individual students, for our communities, and ultimately for our country when we consistently fail to recognize and nurture potential giftedness? Florida school leaders will have the opportunity to hear national experts on the related topics of equity in gifted education and the growing crisis that has been labeled the Excellence Gap. There will be facilitated dialogue and shared resources to explore this important issue.

  • Diversity statistics of gifted programs in Florida, state rules and statutes and the NAGC and FL Gifted Standards
  • Diversity/twice exceptional issues and gifted education service models, and where to find format information in the Florida Gifted Plan
  • Funding gifted services: Javits, Challenge Grant and assorted grants and scholarships available for districts to apply for funds
