Annual Awards:
Hollingworth Award
Encourages educational and psychological research studies of potential benefit to gifted and talented children. This international competition is open to individuals, educational institutions, and other organizations that present proposals for publishable research projects concerning gifted and talented young people.
A. Harry Passow Classroom Teacher Scholarship
For teachers that have shown excellence in teaching gifted students, the ability to meet the needs of gifted students, and commitment to furthering the development of their teaching skills.
NAGC/Ball State Administrator Award
With generous support from Ball State University, this award is presented to a school administrator outside the field of gifted education who has made the most significant contribution to gifted education in his or her school district.
Community Service Award
Presented to an individual who has made the most significant contribution to one or more of the following areas--education, science, the arts, humanities, parenting and the family, public policy--in a way that has benefited the development of gifts and talents in young people.
Doctoral Student Awards
Up to five awards are given to individuals who exhibit the highest and most consistent degree of scholarship in the gifted education field.
Masters' and Specialists' awards (formerly the Non-Doctoral Student Awards)**
Up to five awards are given to individuals who exhibit the highest potential for future scholarship in the gifted education field.
Early Leader Award
Given to an individual who has exhibited the highest and most consistent degree of leadership in the gifted education field since receiving his or her doctorate.
Early Scholar AwardPresented to an individual who has made significant contributions in conducting and reporting research regarding the education of gifted and talented individuals.David W. Belin Advocacy Award
Presented to an individual inside or outside the field who has been a consistent advocate on behalf of gifted students and a voice for supporting gifted services in school settings.
Distinguished Service Award
Presented to an individual who has made the most significant contribution to the field of gifted education through a long and fruitful association with NAGC.
Distinguished Scholar Award
Presented to the individual who has made the most significant contribution to the field of education regarding gifted and talented individuals, and whose work exhibits a continued record of distinguished scholarship and contribution.
Curriculum Studies Award
The Curriculum Studies Network sponsors an annual award for curriculum development.
E. Paul Torrance Award (Vote for this award in the June 2013 Elections)
The Creativity Network sponsors this annual award, which acknowledges and rewards significant contributions of individuals and groups whose work facilitates the enhancement and spread of creativity, especially among gifted children, and who are themselves creative thinkers.
GCQ (Gifted Child Quarterly) Paper of the Year Award The GCQ Paper of the Year Award is given to the author(s) of the paper published in Gifted Child Quarterly in the volume year immediately prior to the Award, which, in the opinions of the Editor and members of the Publications Committee, best exemplifies high standards of scholarship in research, theory, and/or practice in gifted education. Nicholas Green Award:
Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award--Check your state's deadline to see if you still have time to nominate a student
Recognizes distinguished achievement in academics, leadership, or the arts in children grades 3 through 6.
