Description: Vanderbilt University’s Programs for Talented Youth seeks to identify and enrich the learning lives of academically talented youth from diverse educational, racial, and economic backgrounds by providing academic acceleration and challenge.

Vanderbilt PTY creates and offers services that promote the learning growth and socio-emotional wellbeing of intellectually talented young people and offer professional support for those individuals who work with this population. Student Programs

Vanderbilt Summer Academy (rising 8th - 12th graders) offers one, two, and three sessions. Session One begins June 9 – June 14, 2013 is a one-week residential program for students entering 8th grade in Fall 2013; Session Two begins June 16 – June 28, 2013 is a two-week residential program for students entering 9th or 10th grade in Fall 2013; Session Three begins July 7 – July 26, 2013 and is a three-week residential program for students entering 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2013

Summer Academy at Vanderbilt for the Young - SAVY is for rising 1st-7th grade students and offers 3 sessions of courses this summer. Session 1: June 16-21; Session 2: June 24-28; Session 3: July 8-19

Educator Programs

Teaching for Talent: Adjusting Curriculum & Instruction to Meet the Needs of Gifted Learners – June 17-21; June 24-28, 2013 – Explore the nature and needs of academically gifted learners, and learn/practice evidence-supported models for adapting curriculum and instruction to meet those needs.

Leading Change in Gifted Education: Administration & Program Development – July 22, 2013 – Learn how to develop, implement and sustain a successful program for the academically gifted.
