Belvoir offers exciting training in art, dance, music, theater and individual sports. Girls grades three through ten develop skill, creativity and self confidence. Each girl selects her own program and is then placed in small classes graded by age and skill level. For example, a talented studio artist can spend four hours a day, six days a week, in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and photography or include electives in set design, dance, music, fitness, tennis or swimming. Many student campers develop a complete performing arts curriculum with professionally taught classes in acting, Shakespeare, musical theater, private voice, ballet, jazz and tap. Skill is not a prerequisite, but an outgrowth of the program.
Accommodations at Belvoir are exceptional. The younger girls are housed with their counselors in the large gracious bedrooms of the main house. Girls who have completed grades six through ten live in age specific dorms subdivided into modern dorm rooms. All campers enjoy the living rooms, dining rooms, and porches of the main house which are ideal for socializing and practicing. Excellent food served family style is complimented by six salad bars.
